I’ve heard someone say, “If you can’t stand the heat, get out the kitchen.” But in contrast, the heat is where great things happen; things go through a transformation process. In other words, the heat causes things to change, develop, rise and reach its full potential. From the heat things are created and purified, impurities are removed. In high temperatures, diamonds are made and miracles are seen. Just take a look at Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-Nego (Dan. 3).
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, ‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve can deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.’“ Daniel 3:16-18, NKJV
Beloved, are you in the fire today? Are you experiencing life’s pressures that come in the form of oppositions, setbacks, devastation, and death? Has the fire been turned up seven times hotter and life is coercing you to say, “I’m done!”?
If you’re in the fire, don’t try to get out. You heard me. I said stay in the fire! Don’t walk away, but stay right there! Remember, battles are won in the fire! Lives are changed in the fire! God makes us new in the fire! Oh, my friend, greatness is born and miracles are seen in the fire. Even though the fire God allows us to experience may make us want to throw our hands up and say, “I’m done,” we must remember to trust God and believe in Him. Put our hope in the One who has overcome the world.
33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] John 16:33 AMP
God turns up the heat in our lives to make us better, to develop in us patience, endurance, strength, more faith, and to cleanse us by removing things that hinder us and the sin that entangles us (Rom. 5:3; Heb. 12:1). Our Father wants us to be more like our brother Jesus. Sometimes, God allows us to go through the fire so that those around us and close to us may see His power and might at work in our lives (Dan. 3:25-28). My friend, the Creator God is using your hardship and difficulties to save lost souls and draw them close to Him (Gen. 55:20). Isn’t that amazing? Ultimately, God is being gloried and exalted through our adversities.
“‘Look!’ he answered, ‘I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.’ Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, ‘Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!’” Daniel 3:25, 28, NKJV
Sisters, if you’re in the heat, don’t get out the kitchen! But do as our brothers did in the book of Daniel. Trust God and believe that He will either deliver you from the fire or deliver you in the fire.
